WHAT’S THE GAME PLAN?
The Q4 Game Plan of 2026

Sometimes, when you step into a new quarter, you might feel the need to set new goals. But that doesn't always have to be the case.

This Q4, the focus isn't necessarily on starting over.
It's about continuing the momentum you're already building.

Q4 is not the time to check out of the game. It's the time to stay in the game.

You might be thinking about taking your foot off the gas. Or maybe you're telling yourself it's too late to work on the things you wanted to accomplish at the beginning of the year.

But now is not the time to start overthinking everything.
Like one of my favorite songs says,
"Stop overthinking everything, just run your race."

And that's what this Q4 Game Plan is all about.

Running your race and staying in the game.

Here are three things to remember as we finish 2026:

1.There’s still time to build something
I have mixed feelings about the end of the year.
Because I don’t think the end of the year has to signal the end of something.
It can also mean a new beginning.

A lot of times we get too caught up in the calendar. We wait until the new year to try something new, start a project, or take a leap on something that scares us.

And when the end of the year comes around, we start thinking, damn, I didn't do everything I said I was going to do. And since it's almost the end of the year, we convince ourselves that we might as well wait until January.

I think a lot of us get too caught up in the calendar. I know I have.
And then we say, I’ll start on Monday or in January, or when the timing feels right.

But one thing about successful people, they don’t wait for a certain time on the calendar.
They just decide to start.

This Q4, ignore the calendar. You don’t need to wait until January to get in motion.

Sometimes, we put too much pressure on ourselves to accomplish everything before the year ends. We forget that we can continue building, creating, and working toward our goals no matter what time of the year it is.

We don't need a new year to go after something new, pick up something that was left unfinished, or start again.
We can do it today.

2. Winning Ugly

Not every win is going to be pretty. But the way I see it, a win is a win.

Winning won't always go your way. Not every shot is going to go in. Not every swing is going to be a home run, and not every punch is going to be a knockout.

You know, like the quote says, "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor."

Winning is getting comfortable with all the uncomfortable moments that come with it.

Getting to the finish line won't always look the way we expect it to.
Winning is ugly. Winning is hard. And most of the time, winning won’t go as planned.

But now that we're getting closer to the end of the year, remember that it's not always about how you won. It's about the fact that you did.

A win is a win. Please celebrate that.

3.Smile

This week, I saw a video of Gabby Williams from the Golden State Valkyries talking about how she put a smile on her face after missing a shot. She said, “If I put a smile on my face, my shoulders will go up, my head will stay high, and I’ll hit the next one.”

This clip reminded me how we often forget that our attitude can change the way we see a situation. And even how we respond to it.

One powerful thing we have to remember is that we have the ability to change our attitude. Even when we're down, we have the choice to put a smile on our face and go after it again.

Sometimes, we have to get out of our own heads to see things more clearly. And sometimes, it's as simple as starting with a smile on our face.

Attitude isn't about controlling the situation.
It's about changing how we choose to see it.
Whether you’re up or down, try to end this year with a smile.

That’s it. That’s the game plan.
Remember, 1% better every day, and small wins are WINS!
