WHAT’S THE GAME PLAN?
Turn Struggles into Challenges

Today’s game plan is inspired by a YouTube podcast I watched with Ryan Pineda and Myron Golden. (click this link to watch)

It’s a great interview and conversation between them about creativity, challenges, and self-improvement.

In today’s game plan I’m sharing three quotes on challenges and I hope they encourage you to look at obstacles and challenges in a different way.

Here are three quotes on challenges: ⬇️

1."You will never face an obstacle that’s bigger than you, only obstacles that you THINK are bigger than you. If you think they’re bigger than you, you think the obstacle stopped you but you actually stopped yourself.”

For the longest time, I struggled to see obstacles as opportunities for growth. This was mindset change I had to make this year. Instead of automatically viewing an obstacle as the end-all-be-all, I started asking myself, How can I grow from this? Sometimes, when you take a moment to look at it, the obstacle isn’t as big as you first thought.

2.”These obstacles cannot define me.” - Kobe Bryant

We often avoid challenges because we worry about how embarrassing it might be to admit we didn’t overcome them. But as Kobe Bryant said, “we can’t let obstacles define us.” Don’t give too much power to the small challenges along your journey. A failed attempt doesn’t mean you’re defeated. Keep taking on challenges—because that’s what will bring you to the next level and the best version of yourself

It’s nearly impossible for us to avoid struggles and obstacles. What makes us stronger is how we handle these challenges—staying in control of our actions and emotions, even when faced with difficulties. We might not have control over the outcomes, but we have control over the inputs.

If the point of life is to become the best version of ourselves, shouldn’t we embrace challenges instead of freezing in the face of them? A challenge, after all, can only make us better.

Instead of thinking of an obstacle as a dead end; view it as a speed bump or a detour.

That’s it. That’s the game plan for this week.
I hope this helps you face a challenge with a different mindset this week.
