QUOTE OF THE WEEK
WHAT’S THE GAME PLAN?
THE Q2 GAME PLAN OF 2025
I hope Q1 of 2025 was good to you.
This week’s game plan is all about Q2. Let’s get straight to it.
Here are 3 things for Q2 ⬇️
1.KEEP MOVING TO KEEP GROWING
If there’s one thing I learned in 2024,
it’s that moving your body is one of the most underrated self-help tools.
Stuck in your thoughts? Overthinking? Struggling with a decision?
Move your body.
Walk, stretch, hoop—whatever gets you in motion.
You might find the answers you’re looking for.
And if you don’t, at least you gave yourself the space and reset
you needed to find them later.
2."EVERYTHING IS PRACTICE."
– JAMES CLEAR
Check out this post from James Clear’s newsletter. ⬇️

Everything we do is something we’re practicing—even if we don’t realize it. If we spend our days doomscrolling, we’re practicing distraction. If we’re constantly put things off, we’re practicing procrastination.
The good news is, we have control over what we practice.
Practice gratitude. Practice positivity. Practice focus.
Practice the habits that move you forward.
Every action is training. What are you practicing daily?
And more importantly—who are you becoming because of it?
3.DO THE HARD STUFF
“The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.”
– Dipen Parmar
The thing we keep pushing off? That’s probably the thing that will move us forward the most. The magic we’re looking for is in the work we don’t want to do.
Sometimes, the discomfort we’re resisting is the doorway to our biggest breakthroughs. Growth doesn’t come from avoiding the hard work—it comes from showing up, even when we don’t feel like it.
That’s it.
That’s the Q2 game plan of 2025.
GO BE GREAT.
Remember, 1% better every day, and small wins are WINS!

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how your journey as a graphic designer and illustrator began?
As a kid when I wasn’t playing sports I always gravitated towards art. I would look at old sports magazines and try to redraw the pictures I’d see. I was pretty good at it and I enjoyed creating. As I got older through the High School years I lost touch with that. There was a lot of internal and family pressure to find a “real job” and career. I felt the pressure, anxiety, and sometimes depression of not knowing what direction my life is going. It was around this time that I dove back into art which I hadn’t done in years. I remember I began drawing stuff again and it was around the early days of IG so I posted a few of them. It wasn’t till then that people around me started suggesting “hey, you should explore graphic design”. Then it finally clicked.
What inspired you to start working in the sports industry?
Were there any specific experiences or people that influenced your journey?
So when I started the path into graphic design I interned at a small branding studio in Brooklyn and that led to a design role at an ad agency. I gained a ton of valuable experience working with a small and big team. However, the work itself was not fulfilling to me. It didn’t connect and in hindsight it’s honestly because I had no interest in the specific brands I was creating work for. Essentially it was just a job. It took years and some soul searching to realize what subconsciously I already knew and that is sports and art has always been my passion. Once that set in I tried to bridge the gap between my work and where I wanted to be.
With so many athletes and epic moments in sports, how do you decide which ones to bring to life in your art?
There’s so many great athletes and moments that yes sometimes it’s difficult to choose. I think currently since I’ve worked in the social space so long it’s about timing. I try my best to capture a moment as it’s happening. Some athletes hit iconic milestones or even gestures like a Steph Curry Night Night at the Olympics. Those are things I usually look for to help me decide.
Can you share a project or piece of work that stands out as your favorite or most meaningful?
The most meaningful project I worked on wasn’t professional but came during my first semester at an Art Institute. This was when I decided to actually pursue graphic design and of course I was very nervous about it and would have doubt about my work at times like a lot of artists do. But for this class our project was to choose any classical painting you want and recreate multiple versions of it with your own interpretation. I remember my professor liked my pieces so much they decided to display it as it’s on display on the school hallway. This was the first time I’d seen my work behind glass. And said okay, I can do this.

Looking back on your journey, what has been the most rewarding part of being a graphic designer and illustrator?
Looking back at the journey it’s incredible to just see where I started and how I’ve evolved through out the years and still doing so. The work will only continue to get better. The most rewarding part is the people and communities I have gotten to meet and been blessed to be a part of. It has taken me places I never thought I’d be. So for that I’m always grateful for the people I’ve met along the journey.
What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the world of graphic design and illustration?
The advice I would give someone entering the design world is to keep practicing and perfecting your craft. Do not get discouraged if things don’t look perfect right away. I can show you work I created early on that does not compare to the work I make now. Keep learning, keep adapting, and don’t lose focus. Remember why you started.

Thanks again Jimmy for taking the time to share your journey
