WHAT’S THE GAME PLAN?
MASTER YOUR THOUGHTS

There have been many times in my life when thoughts, specifically negative ones, have gotten in the way of my goals. It's pretty wild how something as small as a thought can have the ability to control our lives and sometimes even prevent us from achieving our goals.
But the reality is, we have the power to control our thoughts, not the other way around. Although, I know, sometimes it might not feel that way.
And here’s the thing: your thoughts and feelings are not who you are; they are just that, feelings and thoughts.
Your thoughts do not define you; you have the power to control them.
Here are 3 tips for MASTERING YOUR THOUGHTS: ⬇️
1.THOUGHTS ARE THOUGHTS
Just because you think something doesn’t mean it’s necessarily true. Sometimes our minds can create scenarios that aren’t based on reality. One thing that has helped me when I get caught up in negative thoughts is reminding myself that they will pass. It’s normal to have negative thoughts, but what I try to avoid is letting them spiral into more negativity or influence actions that aren’t true to myself. A thought is just a thought; it can only spiral into more negativity if I allow it to.
Remember, thoughts and feelings are temporary and do not define who you are.
2. YOU CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS
Make decisions based on your goals and values, not on your thoughts. Let me share a simple example: sometimes you might think, "today I don’t feel like going to the gym." But is that feeling a decision based on your thoughts or your goals? It's okay to have moments when you don’t want to train; it's normal. The problem is when you allow a passing thought to dictate your life and hinder your progress towards your goals and values.
Remember, thoughts and feelings come and go, but your goals and values are what guide you towards what means the most to you in life.
Our thoughts have the power to control us if we let them. For instance, you might think, “I don’t feel like doing this task.” Instead, shift your mindset to, “I don’t feel like it, but I’m going to do it anyway.” You can take action despite having these thoughts of not wanting to do something. By taking action aligned with your goals and values despite your thoughts, YOU maintain control.
The next time you find yourself in this situation, ask yourself, are these actions I’m about to take based on temporary feelings or based on my goals and values?
3.LIVE IN THE MOMENT
Practice living in the moment. Sometimes, we think too much about the past or worry about the future. But the past is already done, and unfortunately, we can’t change it. Planning for the future is good, but worrying too much doesn’t help either.
Living in the moment means choosing to accept what the day brings and not letting thoughts of the past or the future steal our appreciation of the current moment.
That’s it. That’s the game plan.
You control your thoughts, they don’t control you.
Remember, 1% better every day, and small wins are WINS!
