QUOTE OF THE WEEK

WHAT’S THE GAME PLAN?
Resilient Hearts, Discipline, & Emptied Tanks

This week’s game plan is inspired by the interview we did with Anderson Miller, former Kansas City Royal, a couple weeks ago.

It truly got me thinking about my journey creating the Ball Club and my own journey towards personal growth. If you missed it, check it out here.

For this week’s game plan, I’m sharing three things that inspired me and some thoughts that came to mind from our interview with him.

1. EMPTY THE TANK

Anderson's words hit hard when he said,  ‘When I tell you my career was on life support I mean it was barely breathing, man. I just knew that if I didn’t make it back to a Major League Organization it wasn’t going to because I didn’t give it every single thing I had and truly empty the tank.’

When I look back on my journey and life, will I be okay with the effort I gave, or will I be disappointed knowing I could have given more? My new mentality is, leave no stone unturned.

2.DISCIPLINE

Anderson stayed disciplined in pursuit of his goals. Despite having a family, working, pursuing his degree, and training while waiting for his next opportunity, Anderson remained focused on his goal.

Juggling all these responsibilities can’t possibly be easy, but he stayed disciplined and kept going. Honestly, there’s times when I don’t feel like doing the work. But the work doesn’t care about how I feel. The work just needs to get done. That’s discipline.

2.RESILIENT HEART

There have been times where setbacks and failure have held me back and taken my confidence. One thing that inspired me about Anderson’s story is that he kept going despite setbacks. He kept moving with that “one door closes another one opens” mentality. Setbacks are an opportunity for reaching new heights and new levels.

Okay. That’s it. That’s the game plan for this week.

Remember, 1% better every day, and small wins are WINS!
